Sisterhood

Being a part of Greek Life is an amazing opportunity and a great way to get the most out of your college experience. Sisters are not just friends, we are family. We share a bond and a commitment to each other that lasts our whole lives. Greek life will provide you with a home away from home, a family, support, and friendship for all your days, not just while you are here in Potsdam. Joining a sorority can also help improve your GPA's, as is the case for many Greeks.

Personal Skills

Joining the Greek community will also help you with your personal skills such as time management and leadership. Running a house is a big responsibility which requires you to take an active role. Once you are a member, you are part of a group that will depend on you to get things done. House positions are an opportunity to build public speaking, leadership, communications, and problem solving skills - and they look great on a resume!

Community Involvement

If community involvement is your thing, then Greek Life is for you! Greeks, and especially Omega, try to take an active role in the Potsdam Community. We feel it is our responsibility to give back to the people of Potsdam through service activities such as cleaning the Newman Center and the Animal Shelter, taking the animals at the shelter out for walks, raising money for the American Cancer Society, and throwing candy to the kids at the Christmas Parade.

Recent Activities

Our activities are often related to service projects and philanthropy, such as:

• -The Relay for Life

• -Polar Dive

• -American Cancer Society

• -Community Clean-Up

• -AIDS or Crop Walks

We also host a variety of fundraisers such as car washes and pancake breakfasts, as well as social functions within the Greek community.

During Rush we often host movie & pizza nights, as well as a variety of theme parties. Contact us to find out information about this semester's rush schedule!

We are also present at most of the campus fairs, so stop by our booth and pick up information or sign up on our contact sheet to be notified of our functions. Remember, rushing is not a commitment to pledge, so come out and have a great time!

Meet New People 

What better way to meet more people then by joining a Potsdam State and Clarkson Sorority? You get the best of both worlds and bridge the gap between the two schools. Pledging Omega will introduce you to friendships you might not have made without us. We're not just talking the members of the house, you will meet other Greeks, students, and maybe even faculty. It's a great way to network and get yourself known!

Omega's Commitment

At Omega, we are proud of our house, our letters, and most importantly our sisters. We have lived at 51 Elm Street since 1968, and are happy to say that we do own our house.

The letters mean sisterhood, friendship, support, and love. We are committed to our sisters, our school, and our community. One step into our house and you'll know how important and special sisterhood is to us. We are proud to be members of such a wonderful house!
